Annual Reflection & Future Plans

To start, I’d like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement over the course of the year. Whether you’re a personal friend or a follower on my social media accounts, you’ve played a key role in helping me reach some important miletstones this year.

2016 was a year full of triumphs, opportunities and losses – personally and professionally.

As a photographer, I was struggling to find the direction I should take regarding my passion. With the encouragement of my family and boyfriend, as well as numerous close friends, I decided to enter my first photography competition. I was fortunate to have one of my photographs selected for the exhibit – a major milestone to an amateur photographer like myself.

While I had intended to do much more in 2016, I recognized the need to slow down and reevaluate how I wanted to build my brand and further develop my creativity. From there, I was able to determine how to build my brand and generate content ideas that would be of interest to my audience. That being said, there were some exciting opportunities that came to fruition this year after a lot of hard work and dedication.

What are some of these opportunities, you ask?

Despite being tight-lipped about my plans for the new year, I wanted to ensure that some concrete dates were set before I disclosed the good news. We are traveling abroad in 2017!

Where will I be going next year?

As of right now, I will be travelling touring Banff, New Orleans, Ireland and England. I won’t be disclosing the exact dates that I will be doing these trips (for obvious security reasons), but I can promise to upload content once I am hope. Now that we have shared that news, I also have some exciting updates!

In 2017, I will begin uploading videos on my new YouTube account!

It is my sincere hope that these videos will give my audience some insight on what goes on behind the camera. Each photo has a unique story behind it that cannot always be expressed through a single medium. In addition to this, I feel that this will take my Travel Diary to the next level by providing engaging content through video and audio.

I’m excited for what the new year will bring, as well as the opportunity to check a variety of items and places off my bucket list! That being said, I look forward to enjoying some quality time with family and loved ones over the holiday break before 2016 comes to a close. I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
